She received a two day, one night stay at the Picard Hotel.The event targeted secondary schools students between the ages of 14 and 17, and forms part of the education component of the Tourism Awareness Month Activities observed in May.Moments after the announcement, Carbon told the media that getting prepared for the competition took a lot of research.Click here to listen to interview with Ms. Carbon: She says the competition enabled her to gain greater knowledge and it encourages students to pursue careers in the tourism industry.Meantime second runner up Clem Francis of the Dominica Grammar School who thrilled the crowd with his “sa ka fete?” introduction said the prepartory stage for the competition entailed a lot of studying and late nights however, the knowledge he obtained during the research is worth the hard work.Mr. Francis won himself a Whale Watching Tour compliments the Anchorage Hotel & Dive Center.Click here to listen to interview with Mr. Francis: The competition took place at the Arawak House of Culture this morning.The other placed schools were the Community High School coming in 5th place, Isaiah Thomas Secondary School 4th place, and the North East Comprehensive 3rd place position.The third and fourth placed schools also received a Scuba Diving Discovery Tour compliments the Anchorage Hotel and Dive Center.The top five schools; Convent High, Dominica Grammar, North East Comprehensive, Isaiah Secondary and the Dominica Community High School participants all received a River Tubing Tour compliments of the Hibiscus Eco Tours in Concord.[album id= 30 template =extend]Dominica Vibes News Share Share Sharing is caring!
