Aurora, In. — Indiana Department of Homeland Security officials have announced some changes and are advising caution to residents in flood-impacted areas.First, residents in need of debris removal and sanitation assistance can contact the Red Cross, which can help citizens connect with reputable and vetted relief volunteers. All services are free, but not guaranteed due to an overwhelming need for assistance. Those needing assistance may call 888-684-1441.Second, state officials have been receiving reports of FEMA employees performing damage assessments in Northern Indiana. At this time, while the State of Indiana and Red Cross have individuals assessing damage throughout the state, FEMA does not have any staff performing assessments. Assessors with insurance companies associated with the National Flood Insurance Program may be visiting policyholders. If an individual visits a home requesting to assess the property, residents should request identification to verify agency affiliation.Uninsured Indiana residents should report damage through the online portal located here. By Ben DeatherageCOTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (July 22) – Alex Stanford became the third different winner in as many nights when the Wild West Modified Speedweek resumed Tuesday at Cottage Grove Speedway. The $1,000 IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified victory was his career third and put the California clipper on the ballot for the 2015 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.
