In a statement, Man City wrote: “Manchester City FC can confirm that Ilkay Gundogan has tested positive for COVID-19.“Ilkay is now observing a ten-day period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine.“Everyone at the Club wishes Ilkay a speedy recovery.”Gundogan was a regular starter in Man City’s midfield last season as he made 49 appearances in all competitions.And his form in the club’s 2018/19 domestic treble-winning season was rewarded with a new long-term contract last year.
